DEPARTMENT: Facilities

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic

SHIFT: 80 Hours Bi-Weekly, Primarily 1st Shift, Required to take call

BENEFITS: This is a full time, benefit eligible position. 

JOB SUMMARY

Makes minor repairs on a variety of equipment, does preventative maintenance, cleaning, oiling, and adjusting, and assists in major repairs, installations, and modifications. Operates and maintains all mechanical equipment to provide utility service as required and makes urgent minor repairs to hospital equipment. Must be able to organize, work alone when required, and know when to ask for help.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate.

• Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.

• Experience as painter, carpenter, electrician and overall mechanical.

• Must have five years of experience.

• This position involves heavy work, see attached sheet on physical demands.

• Change filters, cleans, oils and adjusts equipment per preventative maintenance orders, and provides acceptable documentation.

• Replaces light bulbs and make minor electrical repairs.

• Unplugs sink and drains, repairs faucets and pipe leaks.

• Performs and assists in major mechanical overhauls and installations, piping work, etc.

• Answers repair order calls from other departments. Adjusts and makes minor repairs on a variety of equipment.

• Maintains and cleans all maintenance areas.

• Assemble and installs furniture, cabinets, etc.

• Performs seasonal snow/ice removal, yard work, etc., as necessary.

• Performs such duties as painter, carpenter, electrician, etc, as assigned.

• Pickup and deliver mail, parts, and other runs as needed.

• Performs similar and related duties as required.
