Overview: 

• Corporate experienced GAAP Senior Accountant with critical role in general, cost accounting and inventory accounting, reporting and control functions for US and international businesses.
• Responsible for monthly accounting, reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis core closing functions; compliance activities and for contributing to special projects that strengthen controls, leverage technology, result in operational efficiencies and help drive results.
• Ensures financial accounting and reporting is complete, accurate, timely and reliable.
• Supports external audits, budgeting, forecasting, the treasury functions.
• Finance physical inventory and cycle count lead who partners with Manufacturing and other functional areas.
• Initially this position has no direct reports but is responsible for leading non-US outsourced accounting professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of the monthly close including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, intercompany accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Manage GAAP general ledgers for international businesses and support US general ledgers as needed. Maintain chart of accounts.
• Support consolidation, management reporting, private equity partner and banking core deliverables.
• Support external audit and regulatory filings for US financial parent and international subsidiaries.
• Finance physical inventory lead who partners with Manufacturing to facilitate inventory cycle counting and other key operational and functional areas.
• Contribute / participate in tactical and strategic process improvement initiatives to improve production efficiency, maintain, and improve internal controls and help drive business results.
• Support acquisitions/divestures and other strategic business objectives.
• Perform other relevant ad hoc duties/projects assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
• Master’s Degree or CPA, CMA preferred with private industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with monthly production, audit, cost accounting and inventory experience.
• Strong GAAP Accounting knowledge and experience; International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other locally recognized statutory accounting standard experience a plus.
• Proven general ledger, system query, account analysis and reconciliation experience.
• Exceptional ERP and Excel Skills; and be proficient using Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Office. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics a plus. System Savvy.
• Experienced results oriented Senior Accountant with 5-7 years with proven track record of working effectively individually and in teams; operating with appropriate sense of urgency and closing the books on time with high accuracy who enjoys working on monthly production and participating in projects that strengthen controls, leverage technology, result in operational efficiencies and help drive results.
• Must be technically solid with strong accuracy, GAAP and ERP accounting skills and Excel savvy that is both controls and operationally focused and a forward-thinker.
• Must have proven general ledger, account analysis and reconciliation experience.
• Must have inventory accounting experience and experience supporting audits and strengthening controls through continuous improvement and special projects.
• Detailed-oriented with ability to see the big picture and effective project management and leadership skills.
• Self- starter with excellent communication, organization, planning, time management, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
• Adapts well to business change.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
