CallRail is Hiring a Remote UX Researcher

The Position 

CallRail is looking for a UX Researcher to join our product team. We’re at an exciting stage of building a UX research team for our omnichannel communications product. We are looking for a mixed-methods researcher passionate about representing the user's voice in our product development. If you are a researcher who loves helping the team ask the right questions, translating customer data into meaningful stories, and inspiring new ways of thinking, then we would love to talk with you. 

 

To excel in this role, you need to be a confident self-starter who collaborates well with other researchers, content designers, UX designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. You have strong research, storytelling, and organizational skills and constantly advocate for the user throughout the product life cycle. You’re a researcher who is curious about how to continuously evolve SaaS products with a human-centered approach and is willing to challenge and create new ideas informed by customer data.

 

On our cross-functional teams, you’ll be supported by a leadership team that has deep product and industry knowledge, a UX team that advocates for user-centered design, product managers who are thoughtful and UX-minded, and a technical team who has experience building successful products. 

What You'll Do 

  • Responsible for research projects end-to-end, including planning, testing, executing, and presenting to key stakeholders.
  • Identify research objectives and formulate research proposals based on product and departmental needs. 
  • Manage research needs throughout the product life-cycle, from understanding the “why” behind feature requests to helping define success metrics around feature releases and customer behavior. 
  • Translate research into meaningful output and actionable recommendations, with consideration of product and company goals.
  • Influence cross-functional development teams with research that informs product decision-making.
  • Collaborate regularly with UX teams to identify new opportunities to improve the product.
  • Work with product strategists, BI team, and product managers to create, manage, and utilize quantitative success metrics and customer behavior data sources to inform research projects. 
  • Increase customer exposure by extending research further into the core product development process.
  • Proactively advocates for and actively communicates research best practices, processes, and methods to cross-functional product teams.

What You’ll Need

  • Have a good understanding of user research practice and product life cycles. 
  • 4 years of experience in UX research, including planning, recruitment, data collection, analysis, and sharing results.
  • Knowledge across a wide variety of research methods and when to apply them, and the ability to skillfully execute those methods.
  • Proven track record of success working with various stakeholders in UX and product development to influence product decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to clearly articulate and present research and tailor messages to various audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-moving and changing environment as the team and our product grows.
  • Experience doing UX research for a web application — B2B SaaS is a plus.
