California University of Science and Medicine is Hiring an Assessment Manager Near Colton, CA

Position Purpose

The Assessment Manager contributes, supports and manages OAIE staff in providing accurate and efficient data and analyses in the assessments and evaluations delivered in CUSM programs. The Manager will coordinate with various institutional units with special emphasis on assessment of educational outcomes. The Manager will help to analyze data from assessments, evaluations and surveys in academic programs and university systems to create reports for campus stakeholders. Reports may include tables, charts, or dashboards

Essential Functions

  • Work with faculty to develop assessment items and evaluations including, but not limited to, multiple choice exams, OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Exam), and surveys.
  • Serve as an assessment specialist by coaching faculty, staff, and learners on appropriate implementation and use of assessment tools and resources.
  • Use performance metrics and analytics to ensure that evidence supports assessment methodologies employed
  • Oversee grading processes including, but not limited to, grading calculations and distribution (within FERPA regulations) and remediation management
  • Assist with developing and administering surveys, and data collection for accreditation
  • Access, collect, and manage data from internal and external systems, surveys, etc., and utilize report templates
  • Assist with the processing of learning outcomes assessment data.
  • Support online assessment and evaluation systems (ExamSoft, OASIS, Tableau)
  • Query assessment and evaluation systems for continuous and ad hoc data/information requests; assists faculty and student and faculty researchers; build simple relational databases using SPSS, Power BI, MS Excel, or similar tools
  • Assist with data reports to appropriate committees.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Job Requirements – Minimum Qualifications Skills and Abilities

Skills:

  • Demonstrated skill in assessment, database management, query skills, and Examsoft.
  • Demonstrated skill in effectively using a computer and applications such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)
  • Demonstrated mastering of time management, organization, analytical and planning skills.
  • Strong team player and a willingness to conduct user interviews and trainings.
  • Demonstrated skill in data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues, faculty, students, and visitors.
  • Good judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain integrity with confidential information/data (FERPA).

Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with and within a team, and interact with multiple constituencies
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with deadlines, and creatively solve problems.
  • Ability to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to use program databases ad records systems
  • Ability to proofread materials, recognize and correct errors in conformance to established standards & guidelines, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures related to the position and keep others informed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, psychology, statistics or a related field
  • Five (5) years of related work experience in assessment, data analysis (or statistical interpretation) in higher education setting
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Direct supervision of departmental employees.
  • Familiarity of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Curriculum, Instruction or related field.
  • Experience with survey software, dashboard applications (Tableau)
  • Experience with statistical software and student information systems
  • Experience with outcomes assessment
  • Experience in Medical Education

  • General office environment with low levels of noise
