Calero-MDSL is Hiring a Software Engineer Co-op Near Rochester, NY

 

Job Summary:

The Co-op Software Engineer is a college or university student in a relevant program working at Calero for a semester to acquire knowledge and develop basic skills while performing routine technical work. The engineer learns and applies best practices and standard procedures as a member of an agile development team.

Duties and Responsibilities of the job: 

  • Acquires knowledge and skills of domain programming language(s)
  • Performs small or well-defined programming tasks
  • Learns and applies best practices and standard procedures
  • Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience
  • Debugs own code with limited support
  • Executes and monitors automated tests
  • Performs manual verification and regression tests
  • Pair programs with more senior members of the team

Education: 

  • In the process of acquiring a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. 

Experience and Training:

  • Completed at least 4 semesters towards their bachelor’s degree
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good presentation skills

Technical Knowledge:

  • The Co-op Software Engineer has an academic background in Object oriented programming
  • Examples of relevant technologies currently in use:
    1. C#, Java
    2. JavaScript, React, Redux, Python
    3. MS .NET Framework
    4. MS T-SQL

Contact with Others

All levels of management, including C-Level, Business Unit leadership, other internal stakeholder, and team members of the Engineering and Product Management departments.

Confidentiality

This position will be exposed to extremely confidential information and discretion is paramount. A confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreement will be required.

Management Responsibility

This position is seen as an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities
