Job Summary:

The Associate Software Engineer acquires knowledge and develops basic skills while performing technical work. The engineer learns and applies best practices and standard procedures as a member of an agile development team.

Duties and Responsibilities of the job: 

• Acquires knowledge and skills of domain programming language(s)
• Performs small or well-defined programming tasks
• Learns and applies best practices and standard procedures
• Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience
• Debugs own code with limited support
• Executes and monitors automated tests
• Performs manual verification and regression tests
• Pair programs with more senior members of the team

Education: 

• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience and Training:

• Co-op or other experience as a software engineer
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good presentation skills

Technical Knowledge:

• Background in Object oriented programming
• Examples of relevant technologies currently in use:
  1. C#
  2. JavaScript, React
  3. MS .NET Framework
  4. MS T-SQL

Contact with Others

All levels of management, including C-Level, Business Unit leadership, other internal stakeholders, and team members of the Engineering and Product Management departments.

Management Responsibility

This position is seen as an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities
