You are a deadline-driven, organized and energetic copy editor and writer looking to build a career in the editorial world. You are a word nerd and have no problem correcting spelling and grammar use in text messages with your friends and family. You thrive in a role in which words, freedom of creativity and meeting deadlines make your days whole. You:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field 
• Have at least 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience 
• Have copy editing experience
• Have reporting and/or writing experience
• Have social media experience
• Are familiar with AP Style, InDesign and Drupal/WordPress (or similar content
  management systems)

Your responsibilities as Managing Editor for HomeCare: 

• Coordinate with the senior editor on editorial direction for the magazine and digital products
• Assign and perform detailed copy editing on articles for the magazine, website
  and newsletters
• Write in-house bylines and other content as needed
• Manage and produce e-newsletters
• Manage social media
• Assist with webinars, podcasts and content marketing projects
• Write and compile news, product and government relations sections for print
• Coordinate and compile special sections
• Conduct website SEO tagging and archive work
• Create digital content schedules and produce online content
• Perform client outreach as requested by sales team
• Attend in-person (some travel required) and virtual trade shows and conferences for various industry organizations
• Monitor press announcements and industry news for article leads
• Other responsibilities as needed
