What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMM Inspector position at Cadence Engine Systems?
Responsibility & Authority:
Personnel with the job title listed above have the responsibility & authority to perform the following functions & employment requirements listed below, and are given the authority to perform those tasks.
Brief:
Inspects product from raw material to final machined part and/or assembly.
Functions:
- Able to set up and use precision measuring equipment as needed, such as surface plate, sine plate, calipers, optical comparator, indicators, thread gages, dial bore gages, Muller gages, bridge gages, micrometers, etc.
- Able to layout product using the surface plate or CMM
- Uses the sine plate and trigonometry when necessary
- Generates inspection reports as needed
- May perform other duties as requested
- Enters data in Nonconforming material in Database
- Generates appropriate documentation and certifications as required by customers
- Trains and instructs other employees as necessary
Employment Requirements:
- Must be able to work 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm with $1/hr shift premium)
- Minimum two year degree in quality control and four years aerospace experience or five plus years of aerospace inspection experience
- Experience operation and programming CMM using Calypso software, a MUST
- Ability to read blue prints and specifications on a daily basis
- Be able to give accurate information on hardware inspected
- Capable of maintaining the flow of product for production in a timely manner
Job Demands – Physical:
Ability to perform the inspection task as needed including standing for up to three hours, bench work, and lifting a maximum of 50 pounds without assistance.
