JOB PROFILE:
This position receives technical guidance and administrative direction from the Chief Process Engineer or designee. Prepares calculations, specifications, studies, sketches and drawings of process systems. Performs a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering and planning tasks on project(s) under the supervision of a more experienced Engineer. Participates in assignments and training that will develop work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard engineering and design techniques, procedures and criteria. Work tasks are generally routine in nature and support experience requirements for professional licensure. All work is required to be performed in a safe manner. Industries served include refineries, chemical plants and other industrial facilities.

Individual may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direction and monitoring of department project support staff.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will be required to stand; walk; sit; climb and maintain balance up to 30 feet, or higher, off the ground while wearing safety gear. During field work the employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in a refinery or other industrial settings. The employee must on occasion lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions for extended periods of time while wearing protective equipment and clothing. On occasion the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, equipment that is operating at elevated temperatures, and high, precarious places. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet. The noise level on jobsites may require hearing protection.
