The objective of this role is to provide accurate and efficient handling of customer transactions.  Another primary objective is protecting customers and the Bank by following all C&F Bank policies and procedures.  Additional objectives include delivery of the C&F Focused on You brand, to include deepening/retaining current customer relationships and assisting in the acquisition of new customers. 

 

Responsibilities

Manages Risk (50%)                                                                                                       

  • Processes customer transactions accurately and efficiently; follows all C&F transaction policies and procedures, particularly deposit hold procedures
  • Maintains a demonstrated knowledge of all C&F security procedures
  • Takes ownership of other operational risk management tasks as delegated by Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, or Teller Coordinator/Manager
  • Adheres to the Bank’s information security policies and manages customer and Bank information appropriately

Deliver on the Brand (40%)

  • Consistently executes assigned elements of the C&F Customer
  • Consistently delivers the C&F Service Experience with genuine enthusiasm
  • Provides backup performance of C&F Active Site Leadership as needed
  • Identifies and acts on potential service needs of customers; refers as appropriate; owns follow-up with customer
  • Identifies opportunities to acquire new customers or deepen/enhance current customer relationships and refers to appropriate C&F teammate
  • Grows and maintains deep individual knowledge of all C&F Bank products and services
  • Ensures full knowledge of all digital banking services through personal utilization of these services in order to effectively communicate all features and benefits to both customers and prospects while also maintaining the ability answer questions regarding functionality
  • Educates customers and prospects on digital banking services options and enrolls as appropriate, role models same behaviors for the team

Teamwork (10%)

  • Treats all internal partners/teammates with a sense of urgency and respect
  • Performs C&F Active Floor Leadership as assigned, or need is identified
  • Provides fill-in staffing to other market branches as needed
  • Participates in, and occasionally leads, components of daily morning huddle/weekly team meetings
  • Coaches other teammates constructively, recognizes teammate performance
  • Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • HS diploma or GED is required; a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 1-2 years cash handling experience required; previous teller experience preferred. Previous experience in a customer service role strongly preferred.  
  • Strong organizational, time management, computer, and communication skills are required. Detail-orientation is a must.  Intermediate math skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and from all walks of life. Able to function independently and as a member of team is required

Physical demands:  

Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitors, keyboarding, sitting, motion of fingers/hands/wrists, and standing/walking; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds

 

 Work Environment: 

Work is performed in operational office and a retail branch environment.
