Description

Our current opening is for a Staff Accountant in our Kansas City office. The Staff Accountant provides support to our accounting and operations functions with day-to-day accounting, finance, and general business tasks. The position will have some assigned duties and may be fluid depending on accounting experience, analytical skills, and knowledge. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

· Accounts Receivable:

Posting payments to AR ledger

Reconciling daily reports

Resolve invoicing inaccuracies

Collect past due receivables

· Construction Billing:

Review and comprehend client contracts

Create client invoices as specified in contracts

AIA billing

Follow up with project managers regarding unbilled work in progress and project status

Maintain project files

· Various other accounting and reporting projects as directed by the Controller

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, self-disciplined, and a team-oriented individual. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

• Two-year college degree preferred. Two to three years previous accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
• Viewpoint Vista software and construction billing is preferred but not required. 
• Must be proficient at MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated aptitude to assure all responsibilities are consistently and efficiently met on a stand-alone basis or with limited supervision.
• Capacity to make critical judgments, problem solve and have a strict attention to detail.
• Exceptional time management, organizational and follow-up skills, while handling multiple and competing priorities.
• Ability to track information and maintain a proper workflow of all required paperwork.
• Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation, including criminal and motor vehicle check.
