Fleet Manager

Byrne & Jones Construction, one of the leading asphalt and sports builders in the Midwest, is looking for a motivated, goal-oriented individual who is ready to be a part of a great organization. You will plan and oversee daily trucking operations to ensure performance is done efficiently and effectively.

Job Responsibilities

• Help to improve, monitor, and drive our safety culture and programs.
• Work daily with your supervisor to schedule trucks for each job.
• Manage our own company trucks as well as brokered trucks.
• Review logs of our truck drivers and manage the maintenance of our fleet.
• Completing paperwork related to hauling and invoices.
• Negotiating rates with subcontractor hauling companies.

Education and Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma – Minimum
• Associates in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain Management – Preferred
• Extensive and diversified background with at least 3 years of related experience
• At least 1 year of managerial experience (preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to problem solve and coordinate difficult situations
• Knowledge of trucking regulations and laws
• Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times
