Overview

By Light is seeking a Network Security Engineer for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Cybersecurity Network Operations (CyberNetOps) Design Deploy Sustain (CNODDS) contract. The team will provide lifecycle services that ID6 or successors use to architect, develop, integrate, deploy, secure, operationalize, sustain, document, patch, monitor, optimize and evolve CyberNetOps capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and analyst support for Palo Alto and Cisco products.
• Provide advanced security monitoring including event, alert, and incident evaluation and determine assistance on escalated issues
• Establish and maintain network performance by building firewall configurations, connections and troubleshooting network problems
• Conduct incident/event investigation and analysis
• Test security products and systems to detect security weaknesses
• Identify and create solutions to improve network security posture
• Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues to minimize impact and future occurrences
• Keep management appropriately informed of progress and issues
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in process and regularly assess documentation and reports for accuracy and improvement

Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Requires one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, SSCP, CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH
• Solid experience managing firewalls
• Experience in computer network security to include multiple network security zones, subnetting, VRFs, and VLANs
• Ability to respond to help desk requests and diagnose issues quickly
• Must have and be able to continue excellent interaction with clients
• Proficiency in industry standard desktop applications, especially Microsoft Visio, Office, and specialized networking tools
• Self-starter with curious mindset and desire to learn new skills
• Superior written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• Experience managing Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls in an enterprise environment
• PCNSA, PCNSE, CCNA Cyber Ops certifications are a plus
• Experience with DISA STIG process

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Top Secret clearance required
