Overview

Employ cutting edge machine learning technologies and frameworks to train automated image processing tasks in support of a variety of applications. Work involves creation of image recognition models that run on constrained computing platforms such as Raspberry Pi and Android OS devices. Applications require a high degree of prediction accuracy (optimal confusion matrix) with low latency. Work also involves general back-end design and development of services that run in a containerized environment.

Responsibilities

• Software enhancements using Java, C , JavaScript, TensorFlow, and Python
• Develop image classifiers from source data, including establishing the environment, executing machine learning, and integrating resultant models into software products running on constrained computing platforms, such as Raspberry Pi and Android OS device.
• Conditioning input images and other source data to facilitate machine learning.
• Application of machine learning to a variety of problem sets.
• Integration of machine learning models as modules in other software products.
• Participation in design discussions with the lead software developer, architect, project owner, PM, government stakeholders, and other DARPA performers.
• Creation of software design artifacts.
• Create machine learning models to support development objectives.
• Implement capabilities as directed by the lead engineer.
• Support integration into larger system.
• Work in an Agile development environment.
• Infrequent travel is required for this position.

Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. Directly related job experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 years of related job experience in working on government DoD programs. Extensive experience or education in computer vision may serve as a substitute for DoD experience.
• Deep experience working with Tensor Flow, Tensor Flow Lite, OpenCV.
• Object Oriented design background.
• Deep knowledge of Java and C .
• Demonstrated ability to reverse engineer, test, debug, and integrate software.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• Experience in other image recognition technologies and frameworks.
• Experience with Spring.
• Experience developing software to run on Android OS.
• Administrator level experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, and BitBucket.
• Past experience working in an Agile DevSecOps environment.
• Container technologies (K8s, Docker).

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
