Job Summary –

Supervises staff of 8- 10 team members. Leads and manages the loading process of birds from the turkey house to load into cages on trucks. Must be able to lead and communicate well. Must be able to ensure that all safety and animal care and wellbeing procedures are followed.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee crew of 8- 10 team members .
• Make sure birds are loaded onto trucks following all animal care and well being protocols.
• Maintain accurate loading records.
• Ensuring all turkeys are in cages properly each load.
• Responsible to operate various farm machinery to set up loader in turkey house.
• Responsible for all truck drivers while on farm premises.
• Responsible for (assisting with backing up and guiding through farm in a safe manner).
• Keep up with all loading equipment maintenance and safety measures including transportation vehicles.
• Make sure all employees are following Butterball biosecurity policy and safety policies.
• Perform all job duties when needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be able to give directions and lead team members
• Ensure birds are handled properly and loaded safely.
• Job/Task completed in a timely manner.
• Must be able to perform repetitive motions (lifting 50lbs occasionally up to 100lbs, lifting pin panels, pushing and pulling).
• Must be able to work overnights, 6 days a week as needed.
• Must be able to work in a dusty and outdoors environment.
• Ability to work in small areas.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Basic English and math skills

Educat Education & Experience: 

• High school or Equivalent
• Must have previous experience in the poultry farm.
• Crew leader or Supervisory experience previous experience (Preferred).
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License and at least one year experience
• Department of Transportation Certified Medical Certificate

Physical Demands

Left up to 50 to 60 pound toms

Work Environment

Poultry farms, usually noisy and dusty. Building in which poultry are kept often have unpleasant smell.

The weather condition can also be cold or hot inside of turkey’s house. Must comply with rules and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
