Title: Accounting Clerk

Department: Accounting

Reports To: V.P. of Finance

Job Objective:

To provide financial, administrative, and clerical services for the accounting department

Responsibilities:

• Daily filing, faxing, e-mailing of invoices
• Process and post credit card transactions
• Maintain sales tax exemption certificates
• Send out credit applications for new customers
• Prepare manual and summary bill invoices as needed
• Accurately download and post customer payments to the accounts receivable ledger
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are properly posted
• Verify discrepancies with the customer, and resolve any billing issues in a timely manner
• Maintain spreadsheets and databases, and properly store daily posting reports
• Create new customer records in mainframe, and delete old records as needed
• Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail with customers
• Work with various branches, and departments within the organization to adjust credit limits, pricing structure, and other items pertaining to the customers record
• Anticipate the needs of others to ensure their seamless and positive experience
• Any other assigned duties

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations

Education:

· High School Diploma or higher – Secondary education is preferred.
