Overview

As Director Product Management you will have an in-depth understanding of agile methodologies and experience with managing product managers. As a part of our Innovation organization, you will have the opportunity to define and implement next generation capabilities that transform the way our customers and associates interact with technology. The role will collaborate with multiple teams delivering solutions through agile scrum teams that enable more efficient operations that integrate to ultimately satisfy the overall departmental vision. Director Product Management is accountable for real-time ‘high-touch’ business engagement for strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate is committed to working with our business partners, IT and Product Managers to develop the innovation organization that implements strategic solutions that best suit business operational needs. Individuals in this role are comfortable with changes in workload and/or focus of work and modify actions to suit business needs. The candidate will also exemplify the highest degree of trust and integrity by continually upholding Burlington’s core values and professional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the organization that develops strategic product roadmaps across the organization
  • Develop the agile methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions to business operational needs
  • Business liaison to build key relationships with strategic partners
  • Oversee solutions with the Business, IT and Product Managers to ensure product solutions meet business operational needs
  • Strong understanding of business operating processes.
  • Partners with stakeholders to help drive user adoption of capabilities.
  • Ensures proactively and effectively communication of changes to systems
  • Engage business partners and software vendors to align strategic vision to technical capabilities
  • Engage senior and executive level leadership to review strategic roadmap to ensure align with business vision

Education: Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree preferred

Licenses/Certification/Registration: Agile Product Management Certification desired

Experience:

  • 5 years of retail IT experience; 5-10 years of professional experience
  • 3-5 years managing Product Managers 
  • Knowledge of multiple retail business disciplines
  • Proven ability to lead a innovation organization and continuously deliver key results
  • Strong leadership expertise

Skills and Abilities:

  • End to end functional knowledge of Retail processes and systems
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple ways to senior levels of the organization
  • Experience working with senior and executive level leadership on developing strategies
  • Experience building out a strong innovation organization
  • Strength in building senior and executive level leadership partnerships
