Burleigh County, North Dakota is Hiring a Human Resource Assistant I Near Bismarck, ND

Location: Bismarck, ND

Terms: Full Time / Non-Exempt - starts January 2023

About the Role: Under supervision of the Human Resource Director, this entry level position provides daily Human Resource administrative support within the Department. Assists in receptionist duties, answering phones, filing and high-level administrative work. This position serves as backup to other Human Resource Assistants in their absence.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Associate’s degree in Business or Human Resource related field and three or more years of human resources related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resource related field and one or more years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (total of 5 years).
  2. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication (written and verbal), analytical and decision-making skills.
  3. Must be proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet PC software; Microsoft Windows, Word, Access, and Excel preferred.
  4. Ability to handle multiple duties and priorities under the limited supervision of the Human Resource Director.
  5. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  6. Applicant will be subject to a post offer civil and criminal background check.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Performs receptionist duties to include answering and transferring incoming calls as appropriate and/or taking messages, greeting visitors and providing general information to the public.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all employee and office related information.
  • Assists with on-boarding of new employees.
  • Maintains electronic employee and hiring files.
  • Assists with a wide variety of projects.
  • Monitors, updates and maintains employee documentation for personnel files and internal human resources department files.
  • Assists in the recruitment, on-boarding and engagement programs for employees as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Accountabilities:

  1. Ensure all human resource and department information is accurate, organized, up to date, and confidential.
  2. Create a positive and productive work atmosphere by communicating and maintaining a professional manner, and team-like environment with all other departments and employees.
  3. Keep informed of the latest developments in human resource management practices and labor law (state and federal) through publications and seminars.
  4. Maintain the Human Resource code of ethics.
