The Building People Career Center is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer Near Washington, DC
The Building People, LLC, has a part-time position open for a Mechanical Engineer to assist in providing a variety of engineering services for the programming/planning and development of the conceptual design/bridging documents for a Building and Facilities project.
The Engineer will:
- Perform a variety of engineering functions for the programming/planning and development of the conceptual design/bridging documents for the B&F program project
- Will perform engineering support during the design/construction phase (as design-build or design-bid-build) of the identified projects.
- Provide technical expertise in the evaluation and review for design submission for GSA PBS Projects
- Will need to create and edit excel spreadsheets and power point slides for executive briefing
- Provide design and construction management support for the identified projects. The design tasks review of design submissions (design analysis, specifications and drawings), cost estimates, engineering calculations, code analysis approvals by local authorities and participation in design review meetings. The construction tasks include review of submittals and shop drawings, participation in construction progress meetings monitoring contract schedules, evaluation and inspection of construction activities, evaluation of contract change proposals, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise advice and recommendations.
