General Statement of Duties:
The Pool Manager will work under the supervision of the Recreation Manager to ensure proper facility operations at the Brooking’s Hillcrest Aquatic Center. He or she is responsible for overseeing pool staff, maintain facility, schedule staff, provide in-service trainings, keep accurate records; maintain a clean/safe facility and enforcing facility rules and regulations. He/she will also train staff in cleaning/janitorial work and assist as needed to keep the facility safe and clean. Other Duties may be assigned as needed.
This job description is not all inclusive. The duties and responsibilities are subject to any changes deemed necessary by the Brookings Park & Recreation Department to ensure the safe and effective management of the facility and program offered.
Pool Manager’s Essential Duties:
- Ability to designate job duties to teens and young adults providing them with instruction and proper supplies needed for the task.
- Oversee all actions at the Aquatic Center, assuring safety of all patrons.
- Proper enforcement of the discipline policy and the ability to apply action as needed.
- Operate computer, cash register and calculator as needed.
- Assist during pool emergencies.
- Perform customer service duties such as greeting patrons, giving directions, answering questions, providing facility and program information and directing issues or situations to the Recreation Manager as necessary.
- Telephone etiquette and proper usage of the intercom system.
- Report any broken or missing equipment to Manager.
- Refrain from unnecessary talk to friends and all patrons.
- Know the Emergency Action Plan procedures and respond promptly to any emergency situation.
- Complete rescue reports within 24 hours of incident.
- Never leave the pool area unlocked if there is no lifeguard on duty.
- Maintain professional attitude in performance of tasks.
- Facilitate staff meetings and in-services as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
BENEFITS:
- 60% pay if scheduled when the facility closes early or is not open due to weather.
- Up to $45 reimbursement for swimsuit purchases. This will come on your last paycheck.
