The Brownwood Hotel & Spa is Hiring a Kitchen Utility Supervisor Near The Villages, FL

Come Join our Team at The Brownwood Hotel & Spa and be a part of our story! We are a luxury AAA Four Diamond Property located in The Villages, FL. We are seeking a Full-Time Kitchen Utility Supervisor.

SUMMARY

Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, the Kitchen Utility Supervisor position provides leadership to a team of stewards responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards and organization in the main kitchen, restaurant and banquet areas while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possess a strong, positive attitude and be self-motivated.
  • Know expectations and ensure that staff understands and expectations are executed within the proper guidelines.
  • Oversee and manage all banquet stewarding related issues and make recommendations to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef as needed.
  • Maintain a calm, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Possess unwavering standards for cleanliness.
  • Set-up and execute all banquet stewarding functions.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Alert Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or other Management of any damage or improperly functioning equipment or any equipment needing repair.
  • Ensure all stewards receive training on proper use of dish machines, organization of banquet facility, disposal of recycling and cardboard products and proper closing procedures in all areas.
  • Conduct safety training on dish machine equipment.
  • Prepare accident reports, when needed.
  • Post service, ensure all floors are cleaned to specifications.
  • Responsible for the execution of all equipment pulls requisitioned from the chef for a banquet function.
  • Coordinate with the chef for timeliness in banquet plate- ups and delivery of food to the banquet facility and meeting rooms.
  • Ensure proper uniforms are worn.
  • Conduct quarterly inventories of all plate ware, stem ware, and flat ware.
  • Enforce daily facility walk-through to ensure quality of cleanliness and organization meet company specifications.
  • Oversee and ensure Health Department Sanitation requirements are maintained at all times (information provided by the Executive Chef).
  • Assist in other areas as deemed necessary by the Executive Chef.
  • Prepare the stewarding team schedule.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • ServSafe or similar Food Service Sanitation Certificate preferred.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, copiers and fax machines.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must remain professional, responsive and cooperative at all times and consistently produce quality work while meeting deadlines.

Language Skills

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Management, Staff and guests. English is required for oral and written communications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach, push and lift with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires prolonged hand and wrist movement/usage. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to damp and/or wet locations. The employee is frequently exposed to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity and extreme cold.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration due to kitchen equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
