Description
Brown Industrial Construction is a southeast Louisiana-based heavy civil contractor. We are a family-oriented company with strong values and a high-quality culture. Our environment encourages individual growth and innovative thought. We are seeking a full-time Civil/Structural Engineer.
Requirements
General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Responsible for performing all design and analysis aspects associated with civil/structural scopes of work.
· Development of conceptual layouts and cost studies/estimates.
· Conducts field observations, testing and data collection
· Creating Engineering Proposals
· Coordination with clients and Site Visits expected
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
· Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.)
· Knowledgeable of the discipline specific methods, practices and techniques required to engineer, design and construct process and manufacturing projects
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Good communication skills, both verbal and written
· Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships are developed and able to provide interoffice execution support with supervision
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
· A desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the profession
Requirements:
· 5 years of experience in the Industrial Market.
· Design of structural concrete, structural steel, drainage, etc.
· Licensed PE in Louisiana
· Knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA 3D, Navisworks
· TWIC/OSHA Required
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is most frequently performing in a professional office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of harsh weather conditions, high risk secured locations, and extreme noise levels when performing jobsite walks. Employee must be able to travel to locations to meet with clients
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position consists of sitting for long durations of time, performing work with tight schedule deadlines and a high intensity team This position occasionally lifts, pulls, pushes, or carries materials up to 50 pounds.
