Essential job functions:

• Work overtime as specified by management
• Perform manual material handling tasks
• Perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Perform any reasonable task or assignment as specified by management
• Perform all tasks and assignments in a safe manner
• Perform set-up and operation of appropriate welding and burning equipment
• Perform acceptable weldments (open butt, fillet, consumable inserts, etc.)
• Perform preparation needed for weldment (measure, cut, grind, etc.)
• Perform basic fitting tasks
• Perform N.D.E. procedures (visual weld inspections/dye penetrant)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner
• Knowledge and ability to operate powered and non-powered hand tools
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to stand long periods of time (minimum 4 hours)
• Able to perform basic math calculations
• Able to perform basic measurement of materials
• Able to wear ANSI approved safety shoes, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment
• Able to document all work activities performed
• Able to read blue prints and isometric drawings
• Able to work in confined spaces (E.I., vessel entry)
• Able to identify different types of metals and filler material
• Able to proficiently use Oxy-fuel and Plasma Arc equipment
• Able to proficiently weld materials using the G.T.A.W., S.M.A.W. and G.M.A.W. processes (all positions and all joint designs)
• Knowledge of different joint designs
• Knowledge of N.B.I.C. acceptable repair procedures
• Able to perform all tasks with minimal supervision
• Able to satisfactorily perform A.S.M.E. code activities

Education, experiences and licenses:

• Experience in operating powered and non-powered hand tools
• Experience welding open butt, fillet, consumable inserts, etc. using G.T.A.W., S.M.A.W. or G.M.A.W. processes
• Maintains a valid drivers license or reliable transportation for diverse hours
• Passes a Welder Performance Qualification Test in the 6-G position with acceptable radiographic results
