We currently have an opportunity for a Nursing Services Manager. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing the Nurse Manager will be responsible for supervision of Registered Nurses, supervision of the ancillary medical service providers, the maintenance of quality patient care in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards. The Nurse Manager is responsible for directing and supervising all nursing and ancillary medical services. This includes interpreting policies and procedures, standards, and regulations, and adjusting staff for adequate coverage. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Staff Development and Management (35%) a) Assist and support in all human resources functions for nursing and ancillary service including hiring, firing, and disciplinary action; maintains appropriate documentation and ensures compliance with all Broadstep policies and requirementsb) Ensures that staffing levels and coverage are adequate to meet patient care and regulatory requirements c) Assumes managerial duties for performance evaluations and maintains systems to provide regular feedback and evaluation for employees d) Works closely with supervisors and other Broadstep Managers to a maintain positive patient care atmosphere in all programs Assist the Director of Nursing and Director of Training in developing and implementing staff training and development programs to meet continuing education and contractual requirements and to further knowledge of medical care, psychiatric care, and working in team environment.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies. 2) Program Planning and Management (30%) Reviews and approves all internal and external referrals for appropriateness of admission into a program.b) Assist the Director of Nursing to provide overall direction and guidance for nursing, pharmacy, and other ancillary medical services in Broadstep programsc) Works closely with Director of Nursing, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, Medical Providers, Area Directors, and other Broadstep Managers, as appropriate, to ensure that nursing program and ancillary medical services meet patient care and regulatory requirementsd) Oversees and controls supplies that directly impact patient care (e.g., ordering and charging of stock medications, medical supplies and patient care equipment and/or supplies); · 3) Quality Management (15%) a) Provide Quality Management direction and oversight for nursing and ancillary activities in all Broadstep Programs and other Broadstep areas as appropriateb) Actively participates in committees and ensures that regular monitors are conducted and reported onc) Leads and/or participates in various special projects teams to address areas of concern Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.Protects individuals and team members by developing and interpreting infection control policies and protocol, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. 4) Clinical Compliance (15%) a) Assures that nursing and ancillary staff practice within their individual scopes of practice. Maintains documentation of individual care services by auditing individual and department records.c) Participates in Nursing P&P Committee maintaining current P&P for nursing, pharmacy, and ancillary medical services and ensures that they comply with all regulatory and contract requirementsd) Participates in or conducts regular meetings with staff to ensure full understanding and buy-in for all Policy & Procedure (P&P) e) Participates as needed in all programs, licensure, and other external audits and in the preparation of Corrective Action Plans (CAP); Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability, completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, trouble-shooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques. 5) Miscellaneous (5%) a) Participates in Broadstep meetings as requiredAchieves financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, participating in team problem solving methods. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises all licensed nurses and certified medical assistants within the Clinical department(s)Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Indirectly supervises Direct Support Staff. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 1) Possess a valid, un-restricted, state-specific Registered Nursing license.2) Meet all licensing requirements set forth by the respective state of operation.3) Bachelor of Nursing required or Associate of Nursing with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a health care related field. Master’s Degree Preferred.4) Minimum of three years’ experience in direct patient care, preferably in an ambulatory care setting or inpatient psychiatric setting5) Minimum of three years increasingly responsible nursing management or supervision, experience preferably in psychiatric and medical setting.6) Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills, computer skills and knowledge of word processing Demonstrated ability to work effectively with men and women of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment.
