Direct Support Professionals work with individuals on goals to achieve the highest level of independence. This will ensure that evidence-based practices are utilized to ensure a comprehensive therapeutic program is provided for the individuals served. The Direct Support Professional will also ensure that state and agency regulations are adhered to and best practices for providing supervision to all individuals to make sure their needs are met. Minimum Qualifications:· Must be at least 18 years of age,· Must pass a background check,· Must pass pre-employment TB screen and physical.· Lift 50lbs Experience:No experience is needed supporting people with special needs. We need people who care about others and enjoy inspiring and motivating those individuals we serve.Duties of the Direct Support Professional:· Chart daily progress notes during each shift through Therap system· Ensure daily care for individuals· Assist individuals with taking prescribed medication· Participate in community-focused activities· Attend doctor’s appointments with individuals· Plan meals with attention to dietary constraints· Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own· Act quickly and responsibly in case of emergencyWorking Conditions:The working environment is in a group home.
