POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating, obtaining and analyzing the required documentation for files being considered for infringement. This may include contacting local and state governmental agencies and conducting Internet research. Will also maintain accurate records and update BMI systems/databases. Responsible for final preparation of Certified Infringement files. Work on special projects as assigned.
LOCATION: Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB• Obtain necessary information needed to prepare infringement files.
• Research a variety of information via telephone, internet, and internal systems (i.e, establishment details).
• Interact with other departments within BMI to investigate businesses and/or coordinate activities.
• Communicate with external individuals including state and local governmental agencies.
• Draft correspondence (mail, faxes, email).
• Coordinate regional infringement file process flow with assigned attorney.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Carefully manage all assigned activities.
• Regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an office environment preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of Access
• Proficient in basic Internet functions and research techniques
• Proficient with company specific databases and equipment (copiers, fax machines and scanners)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and take initiative
• Ability to speak effectively to internal and external individuals on routine matters
Salary Range:The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
