Job Responsibilities:
· Experience as a voice/Data Cable Technician in a commercial setting.
· Ability to properly install and route CAT5e, CAT6 and Fiber Optic cable.
· Strong background with cable routing, terminating, and troubleshooting.
· Installing Wireless Access points and mounts.
· Installing cable support structures (ladder racks, j-hooks, innerduct).
Must be comfortable working on lifts (scissor and boom lifts).
· Experience with extending, troubleshooting and maintaining data circuits & telephone lines.
· Set up computer hardware, install and customize software applications used in telecommunications
· Projects and service could include but not limited to Phone Systems, Structured Cabling Systems, Computer Networking Systems, Access Control, IP Video Surveillance, and A/V Systems in commercial, retail, hospitality, new construction, and retrofit environments.
· Familiarity with troubleshooting and maintaining systems listed above
· Perform detailed and accurate site surveys for clients
· Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations
· Ability to work in fast paced environment
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 years’ experience installation/maintenance of voice and data systems in a commercial environment
· Technicians must have good written/verbal communication skills
· Possess the ability to work in structured cabling environments (work from ladders, lifts and in confined spaces)
· Technician must have good interpersonal & customer service skills
·· Ownership of laptop/smartphone and telecom tools: Snips, Modular crimp tool, Punch down tool, Cables Tester, Cordless drill, hard hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, 8 ft. or 12 ft. ladder, etc.
· Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards
· Access Control & Fire Alarm experience is a
· OSHA 10/30 Certified preferred
· MUST HAVE a Reliable vehicle and valid driver license
