Job Title Senior Manager – Accounting Job Description Brink’s is a premier provider of armored car transportation, currency and coin processing, ATM servicing and other value added services to financial institutions, retailers and other commercial and government entities. We have a challenging opportunity for a Senior Manager, Accounting Job Summary: Plan, organize and supervise general accounting activities, aiming to ensure that all reports and records are made in accordance with US accounting principles and standards and relevant legislation, within the deadlines and rules and procedures established by the company. The Senior Accounting Manager is also responsible for assisting the Controller on performing remote and on-site balance sheet and income statement reviews of Brink’s US subsidiaries to ensure proper accounting in accordance with US GAAP. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that all identified accounting adjustments and proposed accounting process changes are implemented by the Brink’s subsidiaries within a reasonable timeframe. During these accounting activities, it is expected that the Senior Accounting Manager will provide knowledge transfer and other essential training to accounting/finance teams. This role reports to the Controller and will work closely with corporate accounting personnel as well as with the CFO and Controllers at the entity level. Key Responsibilities: Experience managing the monthly, quarterly and yearly close for business operation of Brinks Capital Legal entity Experience managing 3 accountants direct reports Blackline Reconciliations: Review (monitoring and analysis) balance sheet account reconciliations for a preassigned number of entities. Report the reconciliation results to corporate in a timely basis, and to the entities and provide training/clarification to the entities to fix the issues found in the process. Lease Accounting: Assist with the coordination with the Lease Accounting Center, providing proper lease information and support ARO calculation Facilitate training to team with regards to Blackline, US GAAP, Leases, ARO, Accruals, etc. Corporate Policies: Reinforce and help entities/departments to adhere to corporate policies. Perform other duties as required or necessary (supporting SOX, FP&A and TAX, etc.) Overall Responsibilities: Guarantee the proper allocation and recording of costs to each process or product. Guarantee the timely registration and control of contingencies presented in the Brink’s group companies. Analyze accounting balances and their reasonableness to guarantee their comparability before sending information to the Parent Company and/or third parties. Support the Controller on presentation to the Financial Management team with regards to variance explanations in the multiple scenarios (year / month / budget) Support the Controller on validation of the figures and coordinate the review and approval of the reports by the Accounting Department, Financial Management team and the CFO. Help to generate consolidated information of group companies. Support the Controller on reporting to headquarters the financial information under American principles and within the pre-established company calendar. Give support to concerns and additional information requested by Headquarters. Support the Controller on the preparation of the monthly report for Headquarters. Help to keep the Safeguard of the information reported to Headquarters. Review reconciliations prepared by accounting team. Review the access profiles in various systems in order to guarantee the proper segregation of duties. Help the Controller the coordination with external and internal auditors. Supervise the correct functioning of the accounting system and the input of information from the sub-systems that feed it. Establish the guidelines for each accounting process, ensuring timely training, as well as verifying their compliance. Keep yourself informed and trained in US GAAP accounting and tax matters to timely establish the guidelines, changes or adjustments in accounting registration processes, as well as corporate policies. Verify that periodical financial analysis is carried out during the monthly cycle, explaining variances of accounts that are under your control. Oversee the resolution of reconciling items in reconciliations ensuring no over 90 items. Ensure SOX compliance within scope. Verify that accounting standards are complied with in your area. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting Strong USGAAP technical accounting background Minimum of 4-5 years’ of broad finance/accounting experience Experience standardizing, streamlining, and improving accounting processes. Working knowledge of accounting practices, policies and procedures Team development skills: Be able to coach the team and develop the staff to the next level. Experience driving process improvements in key areas such as: Month end close, B/S recs, internal controls. Accurate, organized, attentive to details, consistent, follows procedures. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Expert knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Financial systems software experience required (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft) Excellent Microsoft Excel (proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) Excellent organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail required Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills Professional Skills: Experience with procedural and/or process recommendations Ability to work with all levels to identify and fix problems Strong working experience and knowledge of internal control concepts Experience with Shared Services model preferred About Brink’s Brink’s is the global leader in security and logistics services, trusted by banks, financial institutions and businesses in both public and private sectors.
