Established in 2013, Brighter Transition YTC is a step down, transition program for males age 16-20 that have completed a long-term residential program. Our campus is located 7 miles west of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Our academy offers a year-round academic program provided by the local school district. Currently, Brighter Transition YTC serves state of South Dakota Department of Corrections commitments.
The Job:
We are looking for someone to help plan, prepare and serve quality, nutritional meals in accordance with licensing and state requirements for food service menus for schools and residential facilities. Maintain kitchen, food preparation and serving areas that meet Health Department and Licensing requirements.
Snapshot of Daily Duties:
- Responsible for training staff and in safe food handling and preparation and stocking of the dorm kitchens with appropriate foods and supplies.
- Supervises the kitchen and food supplies and storage systems in the dorms to assure safe and proper food handling and storage.
- All other duties as assigned.
The Must Haves:
- Graduation from high school or GED is required. 1-2 years dietary and food preparation experience preferred
- One-year previous work/volunteer experience with kids under the age of 21 preferred.
- It is an essential function of the position that the staff member must be capable and proficient in the area of Crisis Prevention when and/or if necessary.
