Bright Health is Hiring a Lead Finance Analyst Near Anaheim, CA

SCOPE OF ROLE

The Lead Financial Analyst will focus on gross margin analysis and will be responsible for creating financial models and financial reports and work with different levels within the organization. The scope of the work relates to membership, premiums, medical claims, and operating expenses. Most of this work will be in Microsoft Excel. As the role expands, it will be necessary to utilize VBA or work with SQL to extract large amounts of data to produce meaningful reports. Other projects will require collaboration with individual and working on cross functional projects.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead Financial Analyst job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.

  • Assist with developing SG&A budgets, forecasts, and trend analysis
  • Develop membership forecast by County and Benefit Plan
  • Support CMS Medicare Advantage bid process
  • Analyze medical claims to identify inconsistences, develop trends, and create monthly reports
  • Reconcile various data sources to pinpoint discrepancies and provide solutions
  • Compile and analyze financial reports, identify relevant information, and transform it into meaningful output
  • Identify new opportunities for process improvements within finance & accounting functions
  • Provide concise data reports and clear data visualizations for management
  • Create financial processes that are consistent, repeatable, and scalable
  • Actual SG&A results and Variance analysis vs Budget and Forecast
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (Required)
  • Five (5) or more years of financial analysis experience (Required)
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer applications; Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Required)
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Health care field (Required)
  • Oracle GL and Smart View reporting or similar systems experience (Preferred)
  • One (1) or more years of SQL and VBA experience (Preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of work responsibilities are performed in an open office setting, carrying out detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Travel may be required.
