POSITION PURPOSE:The Billing Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely resolution of billing disputes with internal and external customers. Ensures all Briggs Industrial Solutions standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:1. Partner with internal and external customers to clear outstanding balances, provide updates and resolve billing disputes2. Process credit / rebills on invoices, as necessary3. Partner with Credit Analysts to understand and assist with billing disputes 4. Record and maintain customer financial status to include dispute type, branch and other pertinent information 5. Assist Cash Application Specialists with applying cash, as necessary 6. Collaborate in developing A/R policy and procedures7. Perform other related duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBasic Knowledge & Competencies:• Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent customer service, including excellent phone etiquette and multi-tasking skills • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and still meet deadlines• Must be able to exhibit professionalism at all times• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Previous Experience/Education:• High school diploma required; college degree preferred • 2 years’ billing / dispute resolution experience preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Working conditions are normal for an office environment • Frequent use of hands to manipulate the keyboard, telephone, files and other equipment• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
