About the Research Department

About the Team

The Project Manager role is part of the Investment Engineering team. Their mission is to build the core pieces of modeled data which underlie Bridgewater’s investment understanding and trading strategies.

About Your Role 
As an Investment Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of the investment models we use to trade markets. With hundreds of models in production, Investment Engineering has the challenge of both building new models and maintaining our existing base models. You will be responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, work milestones, resourcing, and delivery. Our projects involve investors, engineers, operators, and technologists all working in concert to evolve our systematic investment process. You will be responsible for operating effectively across Bridgewater to ensure projects run well. The projects involve technical, analytical, and investment complexity; you should both enjoy these kinds of problems and work well with investors and engineers alike. The projects you will manage are highly impactful and, as such, have many interested parties. You will be expected to synthesize and present to senior managers on projects.

You will drive the following responsibilities:

  • Understand Bridgewater’s broad investment objectives, strategies, clients, the products and markets we trade, and the investment lifecycle across multiple departments
  • Drive and own the planning and execution of both day-to-day and large-scale engineering focused projects 
  • Provide visibility on business deliverable progress / synthesis / key risks to stakeholders through performance indicators and metrics

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in financial services consulting, strategy or management consulting or similar role within a financial institution
  • Familiarity with financial markets and financial instruments.
  • Experience with program/project management including framing and structuring ambiguous problems, requirement gathering and solutioning.
  • Grasp of market and industry trends

Physical Requirements
This role requires individuals to work at our offices in Westport, CT at a minimum of two days (and some cases three) per week with the option to work offsite on other days.

The wage range for this role is $150,000 - $250,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 80% - 90% of this wage range.
