SUMMARY
Accountable for the full scope of resident care/services, state and federal survey compliance, positive employee, resident, and visitor relations, and a positive return on investment. Provide policy and budgetary leadership to each area assuring that operations and activities are conducted consistent with the VMP mission and policy. Assure compliance with applicable federal and state requirements as to applicable licensure and/or certification for each functional area. Participate in assigned strategic planning, quality improvement, and other management committee activities as assigned.

Directly supervises all departments that pertain to resident care.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business, or related field. Minimum 4 years experience in long-term care management.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write business letters, summaries, and reports with correct grammar, punctuation, etc. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents/patients, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff in conflict situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Nursing Home Administrator license in good standing with the State of Illinois.
