Job: Demand Planner

Department: Supply Chain

Location: Philadelphia (HYBRID)

Travel Involved: 15% - Domestic

Job Type: Full Time

Description:

This position is responsible for optimizing client’s demand forecast by reviewing monthly sales forecasts and allocating available supply to maximize business earnings and ensure alignment with long term business and asset strategies. In addition, this role is a key participant in implementing transformative forecast-to-stock (FTS) improvements and is responsible for executing prioritized demand planning activities and supporting change within the FTS processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Review and approve clients four-month rolling sales forecast in alignment with sales plan, customer/product profitability, historical forecast data, and forecast-to-stock business processes.
  1. Work with product management, production schedulers, optimization planner, export and import planners, and sales team to ensure client forecast does not exceed production capacity and is in alignment with the supply plan.
  2. Evaluate demand variances, spot and missed opportunities regularly to drive an accurate and optimal demand plan for the business.
  3. Work with product management, export planner, and sales leaders to evaluate new and or spot sales opportunities.
  4. Identify excess inventory and or available line time for spot, export and or push sales opportunities.
  5. Collaborate with the supply chain optimization planner during supply chain optimizer runs to improve, review, and implement the optimizer demand outputs to maximizes profitability.
  6. Collaborate with sales, performance analysis and product management teams to evaluate and update client rankings and contract types quarterly.
  7. Serve as supply chain focal point for month-end activity to ensure monthly sales targets are achieved.
  8. Deliver periodic communication to the organization regarding supply chain goals, targets, and performance.
  9. Identify and execute supply chain improvement projects to improve demand planning and or business processes.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or engineering related field is required
  •  2-5 years in Supply Chain area and business-related experience
  •  Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues within a cross-functional work environment at all grade levels
  • Knowledge and understanding of the commercial organization including sales support, sales, deployment, transportation and supply chain
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
  • Excel at proactive communication, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically, Excel
  • SAP APO and ERP knowledge and experience
