Responsibilities

The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for broad range of accounting activities including weekly processing of invoices for payment, monthly journal entries and financial statement review.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Work with Controller and Operations Management staff to support business needs of the organization with an emphasis on data extraction and reporting from the ERP system (RentalMan)
• Prepare, analyze and review income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other accounting statements and reports on a timely basis each month
• Prepare, post routine month-end close journal entries on assigned GL accounts
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Documentation of the Accounting processes and controls
• Assist with bi-annual supply and parts inventory and related reconciliations
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets including review of preliminary budgets prepared by other accounting and operations staff
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Special projects involving accounting or technology at BGES, through direct involvement or delegation to others
• Learn and serve as back-up for other positions within the Accounting department

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 3 years in public accounting or minimum of 5 years in corporate accounting
• Strong experience with tax calculations and accruals for multiple states
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Strong research and problem-solving skills
• Technology expertise including strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Strong desire to develop knowledge of existing Company software products
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve while meeting competing deadlines
• Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
