We are looking for an Operations Manager for our Angleton, TX location. This role will work with other managers in the business unit to execute a local market strategy that complements the business overall strategic operating and marketing plans and implements tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement. The Operations Manager oversees all matters related to the assigned operations, implements effective safety and accident prevention programs, leads all operations to ensure compliance with standards, and drives change management initiatives to introduce and sustain new processes that contribute to the growth and durability of the operations of the business unit.
Responsibilities
  • Execute against project objectives, company policies, procedures, and performance standards of all Technicians.
  • Audit inventory and maintain tracking system.
  • Monitor the utilization and distribution of manpower and ensure the equipment inventory is properly maintained and replenished.
  • Oversee and approves bid and proposals.
  • Responsible for managing employees, including hiring, training, coaching and performance management.
  • Develop supervisory goals and objectives.
  • Resolve safety issues and claims.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and equipment maintenance policies; ensures area of responsibility is operated in a manner that is consistent with conditions stipulated in the applicable permit(s) and licenses.
  • Drive functional plans within the operations group to execute against the business plan to achieve or exceed the business unit’s budget and strategic plan to grow the business and meet or exceed service objectives.
  • Lead all matters related to operations to ensure overall operations meet safety, compliance, and P&L objectives.
  • Manage relationships with all outside contractors and vendors.
  • Establish productivity goals where needed; ensure adherence to operating standards; and manage labor hours and expenses.
  • Coordinate with maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries; ensures a safe and productive work environment for all employees; implements and maintains an effective loss control and safety program.
  • Schedule, plan, and coordinate production to meet customer process demands.
  • Manage fleet refurbishment, movement & maintenance.
  • Manage purchasing with inventory.
  • Vendor invoice review and approval.
  • Manage customer disputes/negotiations regarding service and/or billing.
  • Sign liens, waivers, customer contracts and vendor subcontracts.
  • Minimizes wastes in materials, manpower, equipment, and other resources.
  • Manage the daily activities of the Field operations group
  • Approve customer pay applications
  • Support Centralized Estimating Group with finance & other needs. Provide standard cost adders for burdens & support estimating process to ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority.
  • Assist the estimating team by providing relevant cost data to help develop accurate and complete bids, ensuring accurate tools
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Uses logic and proposes methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers
  • Work with Regional Finance Leader, review job cost reports (margins) to highlight areas of concern. Support or conduct weekly or semi-monthly review of all jobs with the field staff
  • Administrative coordination for PO and expenditure process. Review current structure and processes, modify and simplify as needed to increase AP accuracy and timeliness. Understand contract requirements and ensure cost-plus reimbursable billing complies with customer contracts.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities. Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views. Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interest. Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
  • Represent the company in a manner consistent with the company’s core values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or Business Preferred or equivalent of 10 years of active field experience.
  •  7 years related operations & Construction management experience
  • Ability to work well in a cross- functional, fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically (detailed oriented)
  • Strong Communication Skills
