Job Summary
The General Laborer is responsible for safely assisting erectors/apprentices erecting and dismantling scaffold in accordance with Safway safety guidelines, ANSI, Federal, state, and local laws. Additionally, they are used in the racking and stacking of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Perform work in a learning role erecting and dismantling scaffold safely and efficiently: Banding of equipment for loading and unloading trucks, staging and mobilization, erecting scaffolding, dismantling scaffolding, tying off of scaffolding equipment, hoisting of equipment, and climbing ladders to access scaffolding. While performing the aforementioned tasks, the laborer is constantly in a learning mode being cognizant of erection and dismantling sequencing, and all applicable safety guidelines.
• Maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with safety program requirements. Document and/or communicate safety concerns to appropriate parties.
• Communicate and listen effectively with other apprentices, erectors and foremen.

Preferred Skills

• Has an understanding of Safway’s products.
• Knowledge of Safway Safety and Health Procedural Manual and OSHA section 1926 is desirable for lead erectors
• Scaffold experience in the commercial or industrial markets is desirable
• Current/valid driver’s license preferred.
