Elementary Special Education Resource Room Teacher

DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT:

The Brandon School District is a mid-size school district nestled in Northwest Oakland County. The district has approximately 1,000 students in junior kindergarten-5th grade between the two elementary schools, approximately 600 at the middle school level and approximately 850 at the high school. This small, tight knit community has a strong connection to its schools and is passionate about the education of its youth. Brandon High School sends 85-90% of its graduates to college each year, it was ranked in the 82nd percentile of all schools in the State on the top-to-bottom rankings and it was awarded as a Silver Medal Winner by the US News. Harvey-Swanson elementary school is a one-to-one technology school that is ranked in the 83rd percentile in the State.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Teaching
• Acquired full endorsement by the State Board of Education in one or more of the following areas: Emotional Impaired, Specific Learning Disability, Autism or Cognitively
• Experience in co-teaching with General Education teachers to support successful integration and achievement within the general education
• Skilled in addressing academic and behavioral needs of students and the development of behavior intervention plans and functional behavior
• Skilled in curriculum based assessments, progress monitoring and data collection and
• Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction as a tool for student learning for work production, instruction and

COMPENSATION: Per BEA Master Agreement
