THE OPPORTUNITY

What you bring:

• 5 years of professional experience in applied data science and machine learning.

•Strong programming and data engineering skills with Python. 

• Ability to create production quality ML models for training, validation and inference.

•Statistical skills and applied intuition, particularly with time series and fitness data.

•Understanding of ML pipelines and MLOps, particularly within the AWS ecosystem.

•Exposure to or interest with CoreML, HealthKit and related mobile contexts. 

• Attention to detail and results orientation. 

• Excellent communication skills to translate data hypotheses into business context. 

•Comfortable working with globally distributed and diverse teams. 

• Regular use of running or fitness apps is a plus.

What you’ll be working on

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist who can work closely with product leaders to define and deliver new data-driven, AI-enabled, user-beneficial features which serve athletes of all kinds. 

The ideal candidate combines a hands-on understanding of building data pipelines and ML models with an appreciation of user engagement and feedback loops. You must be able to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, managers and researchers in assessing unknowns and communicating trade-offs. You should be well-versed in the domain knowledge and best practices to take a project from proof-of-concept to production.

What you will work on:

You will play a key role in designing, developing and delivering capabilities for mobile and wearable fitness apps. Your work would include analyzing data sets for generating or validating consumer insights, defining scope of data and solutions necessary to meet business requirements, designing the data pipelines for production use, as well as making recommendations necessary for effective and measurable athlete engagement.
