Job Title: Vibration II or II Analyst- Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Bradleys’ is currently searching for a Vibration II or III Analyst- Engineer to join our highly skilled team. As a Vibration II or III Analyst- Engineeryou will be responsible for supporting the Production, Load Test and Facility Departments.

  • Perform general mechanical engineering calculations, primarily involving machine design, bolting calculations, basic stress analysis, bearing calculations, and shaft repair.
  • Analyze vibration data collected on electric motors, both in-shop and at customer facilities. Occasionally analyze vibration data from a variety of other general rotating equipment.
  • Function as primary technical contact for rotor balancing issues, including shop and field balancing.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on rotating equipment and electric motor components. 
  • Provide engineering technical support to machine shop activities along with field service activities, including understanding GD&T.
  • Prepare basic engineering design documents for motor components and skids.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficult to diagnose faults in operation, and make recommendations to maintenance/field service crew. 
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods.
  • Adhere to all existing safety and ISO policies and procedures. 
  • Other duties may be assigned, as deemed necessary by Manager.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication. English required. Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Excellent proficiency using SOLIDWORKS with Finite Element Analysis, MS PROJECTS, MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or industry-specific software required. Willingness to learn latest processes, procedures, and technical software.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Experience with operation, design, and repair of rotating equipment and rotating equipment components including, bearings, seals, couplings, lubrication, alignment, balancing, vibration analysis, welding, thermo spray.
  • Must be able to rapidly adjust to fast-paced environment with multiple objectives.
  • Requires good communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to work with a wide range of both shop workforce and customers.
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must follow all ISO quality processes, programs, and procedures. Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Actively attend training, seminars and internal classes through the WorkForce Development Program.
  • Knowledge of Metals/Alloys and its characteristics is a plus.

 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, plus 5 years experience in industrial service environment. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment including some hands-on abilities as needed.
  • Vibration Analyst certification Level II or III
  • Knowledge of electric motors is a plus
  •  Knowledge of GTI, Emerson/CSI vibration hardware and software preferred
  • Computer and database proficiency
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and comprehend English.
