Position Overview:

The implementation specialist is a position in which guidelines and established policies must be followed closely when working with and for others, both during new client conversion processes and the lifecycle of existing client projects.

An implementation specialist will be assigned to a variety of multiple concurrent projects. Responsibilities include working directly with credit union clients, third party vendors and other BSDC employees. Implementation specialists will have project management oversite but must be able to perform assigned tasks independently and meet assigned & required deadlines.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop an understanding for project issues and practical issues faced in the implementation of a new core system or new product.
  • Throughout the project, develop expertise to answer questions and guide the client in the use of the system.
  • Follow installation standards, project plans, and related documentation to ensure a high level of success during the implementation process
  • Under general supervision, analyze and determine business requirements and provide detailed specifications to programming.
  • With peer assistance, interpret client’s existing systems and workflows through and including the balancing of daily files.
  • Verify setups and changes made to ensure they meet the customer requirements.
  • Build, convert, troubleshoot and validate data import into the Sharetec software from various sources.
  • Develop skill set to provide training to the client before, during and after changes, including the correct use of the Sharetec system and on-line terminal assistance
  • Communicate progress and any potential problems to Implementation Coordinator and/or Implementation Manager for awareness and/or resolution.
  • Work closely with Credit Union staff, third party vendors and internal resource groups to optimize and enhance our project process
  • Use independent judgment to make decisions based on precedents and established guidelines.
  • Solve problems using standard procedures and precedents
  • Acts as an onsite resource during conversion and answers questions, trouble shoots problems as they occur, supports implementation of new procedures, conducts last minute training if necessary and provides support during conversion week.
  • Complete system updates and release upgrades as assigned.
  • Develop skill set to provide training for new employees, advanced training classes, and Webinars.
  • Participate in post-project review of success and be able to adjust future deliverables based on past projects. Leverage lessons learned regarding client implementation experiences to assist in developing and refining implementation processes and documentation.
  • Continuously help design, improve, document and maintain project processes
  • Assist other departments with trouble-shooting, testing and training of system functionality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Implementation Coordinators or Implementation Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree or higher in business, finance, accounting, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to travel both domestically and internationally, rent vehicles, and drive and/or fly and drive to client sites.
  • Valid U.S. passport or the ability to apply for a U.S. passport.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 years direct customer/client functions in the financial services industry is preferred. This should include, but is not limited to credit union or bank operations as a teller, loan officer, ACH processor, etc.
  • Previous experience with data conversions and project management is a plus.

Travel:

  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
