Senior Accountant
Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida has been building pillars in the Jacksonville community and across Northeast Florida for 60 years. Today, we provide youth development and educational programing to more than 3,600 Club members daily across 48 locations throughout Duval, St. Johns, Clay, and Alachua counties after school. Our continued expansion of our services has created an opportunity for a qualified senior accountant to grow with us!

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position with a pay range of $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience and education. The successful candidate should be self-starting, analytic and possess the ability to manage their time to meet priorities and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communications skills is essential to success. The Staff Accountant will focus on day-to-day internal operations of accounting with emphasis in Accounts Payable and Billing
KEY ROLES (ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES):
Month-end/general ledger close process
Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules
Assists with the preparation of monthly financial statements and analysis, including special financial reports as requested
Develop and review operating budgets
Review documentation and post monthly credit card transactions
Maintains accuracy of fixed asset & inventory reporting
Develop accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Coordinates accounting matters cross-functionally with other departments, vendors and external partners
Handle and complete special projects as they arise
Assists CFO on ad hoc reports
Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
Update Grant budget spreadsheets
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
Prior experience as a Senior Accountant preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and full cycle accounting functions including general ledger, financial state preparation, journal entries, and accounts receivable
Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a team with different levels of employees and management
Strong attention to detail
Superior analytical, data tracking, and problem-solving skills
Prior experience with financial modes, reports and analysis
High degree of attention to detail and multitasking
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize work
Ownership and pride in work product
Proficiency with accounting information systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting required
CPA or advanced degree a plus
Work with non-profit a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Much of the work time is conducted in an office setting. This position generally works Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM but may occasionally require longer hours.

Ability to sit for long periods of time; bending and squatting on occasion
Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion
Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary
High degree of emotional intelligence
