Description

HOURS: Monday – Friday, Split shift – approx. 6:15-8:30 AM AND 2:00-6:00 PM

Opportunities to cover breaks in our 7 preschools during the day for up to 39.5 hours/week. No overtime. Location and hours vary during school breaks and summer.

PAY RANGE: Starting at $14.25, increases to $15 after 90 days and completion of DCF hours

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation & attendance. You have to be at work twice a day!
  • Ability and willingness to complete DCF training requirements within the 90-day introductory period.
  • Ability to pass a Level II background check and pre-employment drug test, including THC

Our Spring Hill and Westside Units (located within the respective Elementary schools) are looking for [3] Youth Development Professionals to work with young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Lead a group of up to 25 children, in Kindergarten through 5th grade, in before-and-after school programming
  • Deal effectively with members concerning behavior and discipline issues
  • Communicate effectively with children using appropriate language, tone of voice, and body language
  • Participate in activities alongside members; Encourage and facilitate members’ participation in all activities
  • Ensure a fun, safe, and healthy environment, both physically and mentally
  • Establish positive relationships with children and act as a mentor and role model at all times
  • Take attendance, complete incident/accident/behavior/observation reports
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies and cleanliness of indoor/outdoor areas used
  • Follow DCF rules and regulations at all times
