Boys and Girls Club of Boerne, TX is Hiring a Youth Development Professional Near Boerne, TX

The Boys and Girls Club of Boerne is looking to hire Youth Leaders for our 2022/2023 after school program. If you love children, are dependable and want evenings and weekends off while making extra money, this job is perfect for you! This job is especially helpful for young adults who wish to become teachers and would like the experience working with groups of youth. Hours range from 2:30pm-6:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Pay is $12.00 per hour. Extended hours may be available during holiday breaks and summer.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To be able to manage a group of 15 children while teaching a variety of activities in specific Boys & Girls Club program areas. To provide positive guidance for youth that incorporates character development, age-appropriate and culturally diverse programs. The YDP must be able to maintain confidentiality. This individual must be flexible and able to jump in and exhibit quick leadership skills.

The individual will serve as an ambassador for the Boys & Girls Club of Boerne and must possess a positive attitude in order to blend into a strong team culture. You must understand your role and responsibility to set an example for health and safety for all. YDP will also help to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained and cared for.

YDPs must maintain a professional appearance and act as a role model for children both while at work and in their personal lives.

All injuries must be reported immediately and appropriate steps must be taken to ensure the safety of everyone.

All employees must adhere to all policies and procedures of the Boys & Girls Club of Boerne. Applicants must be able to pass a background check. and a drug screening in order to comply with a "Drug Free" policy.

Physical Demands:

Ability to adapt to inclement weather conditions. Position requires standing for extended periods of time. Some lifting of boxes and supplies of up to 30 pounds is necessary. The ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull and bend are also requirements for various activities.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Refusal to submit to a alcohol/drug screen or a background check will be deemed as a withdrawl of application by the applicant.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Strong communication.
  • Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems in a positive manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision .
  • Must get CPR and First Aid Certification within first six months of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (hot and cold)
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to periods of loud or excessive noise
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
