Boyd Gaming is Hiring a DIRECTOR of IT Near Kansas, MO

What would I be doing?:
Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is seeking a Director of IT. The successful candidate will have responsibility and oversight of the IT systems and day-to-day activities at the assigned Boyd Gaming Property twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
This role will provide oversight for IT based customer facing support services and ensure recovery capabilities are in place and tested for critical solutions at the property. This
role will provide world class customer service and collaboration with corporate, business
leaders, and third party vendors to define property and tactical service level goals, related to value-add and availability, capacity, security, and performance of enterprise systems. Additionally, they will manage the IT team on property.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans, directs, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned team members; assigns work activities, projects and programs; reviews and evaluates work products, methods and procedures; ensures guest service; meets with team members to identify and resolve problems.
  • Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates assigned team members; provides team member training; works with team members to correct deficiencies; implements and or approves discipline as appropriate.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in place and executed to meet Sox and Regulatory compliance controls.
  • Creates and maintains project portfolio for property; manages multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Creates and maintains departmental budget in accordance with department objectives.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Property IT Services Director, Corporate IT Services
    and Business Development Departments and our outsourced partners, if any, with
    any IT initiatives (Security and Audit) at the property level.
  • Leading all IT Property Operations, which includes (but is not limited to): Network
    Operations, Technical Support, Information Technology, Database Administration
    and Product Maintenance.
  • Accountable for all property IT operations, systems and environments; including
    responsibility for the overall effectiveness and efficiency of technology systems and
    networks while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and reliability.
  • Lead the local development of implementation od strategic plans for operational
    activities, improvements and best practices. Ensure the strategic initiatives
    launched by the group are aligned with overall IT Strategy, implemented and the
    goals are reached.
  • Develop and maintain as appropriate IT Property Operations structure that supports
    the needs of the property, including identification of opportunities for appropriate
    and cost-effective investment of financial resources, including staffing, sourcing,
    purchasing, and in-house development.
  • Lead migration to new technologies, evaluate processing performance and overall
    resource utilization for effective capacity planning for the property.
  • Foster a strong customer service mind-set throughout the IT team of user
    satisfaction, while championing thought leadership and innovation as business
    partners.
  • Ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations and
    maintain the company’s information security policies and practices.
  • Ensure property specific IT disaster recovery and IT business continuity plan is in
    place and current.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level
    agreements with end uses and monitoring.
  • Ensure operations and support of IT systems 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Partnering with key business clients, functional groups and development teams to
    deliver against product and service goals and business requirements.
  • When required, be a hands-on technical leader by directing all IT property
    operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance
    of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.
  • Oversee the managerial functions of the department, including budgeting
    activities/adherence, internal/external audits, people management, etc… at the
    property.
  • Effectively manage, motivate and retain a team of direct reports to deliver upon
    departmental and company goals.
  • Maintain effective working relations with various internal and external partners
    including GM’s, Casino, Slots, Sales, Marketing, Product/Project Management and
    vendors.
  • Act as a key onsite leader, fostering a motivational, innovative and team-based
    work culture
What are we looking for?:
REQUIREMENTS
  • BS in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing an IT customer service organization.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license within assigned state of employment.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to travel ~ 20%.
  • Experience with IT Gaming systems/Hospitality experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in development, deployment and support of enterprise business
    applications via offshore and/or cloud infrastructure. Extensive experience working
    with software/hardware vendors to negotiate costs, service level agreements and
    leverage business relationships to leverage industry best practices and partnership
    collaborations.
  • Extensive leadership experience executing business transformation and large-scale
    programs.
  • Strong Technical Operations leadership experience directly managing 24X7
    operations at a Director level.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing, implementing IT process frameworks,
    management and analytics.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements
    analysis through to day-to-day management.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions due diligence and integration experience.
  • Able to work confidently and comfortably in a team of high achievers; he/she will be
    accustomed to a fast-paced, “show-me” organizations characterized by open and
    frank dialogue.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, including the ability to
    successfully interact with and engage employees at all levels of the organizations.
    Can effectively build and establish credibility through and honest and direct
    communication style; mature straight shooter who adds value among the business
    leadership and is highly respected throughout the entire organization.
  • Consistently recognized as a team player and valued business partner who
    understands the company’s business and operations. Willing to “roll up his/her
    sleeves” and do whatever it takes to accomplish team objectives.

    his/her agenda.
