Boulder Scientific Company is Hiring a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis Near Longmont, CO

Boulder Scientific Company (BSC) is headquartered in Mead, CO, and is a premier provider of organometallic compounds and other specialty chemicals used in a wide range of applications. BSC is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of metallocene catalysts and co-catalysts that are primarily used to produce metallocene polyethylene, polypropylene and elastomers, but also supplies products into Electronics, Pharmaceutical and Defense applications. BSC operates two sites in Northern Colorado, which include: a main production facility in Mead and a second facility in Longmont. BSC has continuously grown the sales of its products to existing and new customers and expects to continue on a high growth trajectory.

The Company has created the position of Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to help guide the overall strategic plan of the Company.

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will serve as the senior-level FP&A professional responsible for day-to-day reporting functions, creation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts and modeling, management of the FP&A team, and development of ad-hoc financial and operational analyses for the Company. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily work and assist in continued development of the FP&A team members
  • Ensure projects and tasks of the FP&A team are completed within specifications, on time, and accurately
  • Preparation of consolidated monthly financial statement reporting packages including variance analysis
  • Ownership of the monthly forecasting and annual operating plan process
  • Analyze a wide variety of data to identify opportunities to improve business operations including performance monitoring and reporting against expectations
  • Develop financial models to provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs, improve financial performance, and increase return on investment
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that impact the effectiveness and functions of the Company
  • Work with division-level managers to design and develop analysis for key decision making and communication to the Executive Team
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the Accounting Department and Company
  • Maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for exceptional performance of all assigned responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from an accredited College or University required; MBA/CPA preferred
  • Backgrounds in FP&A/Corporate Development, Professional Accounting, Investment Banking, Private Equity or Financial Consulting will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with reporting and financial analysis

Experience

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to address both senior-level and junior-level business professionals
  • Ability to work with and draw conclusions from incomplete data sets
  • Ability to produce accurate information within tight timelines and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing the Financial Planning & Analysis function
  • Demonstrated budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Hands on experience with creating and analyzing financial statements and creating complex financial models
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or the chemicals industry is a plus
  • Experience with Power BI reporting tool is a plus
  • Experience with Chempax reporting software is a plus

Work Environment

Extending keyboarding time will be required. This position is very deadline driven; therefore additional time and effort will be required to meet deadlines.
