Boulder Scientific Company is Hiring a Customer Support Specialist I Near Longmont, CO

Boulder Scientific Company (BSC) is headquartered in Mead, CO, and is a premier provider of organometallic compounds and other specialty chemicals used in a wide range of applications. BSC is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of metallocene catalysts and co-catalysts that are primarily used to produce metallocene polyethylene, polypropylene and elastomers, but also supplies products into Electronics, Pharmaceutical and Defense applications. BSC operates two sites in Northern Colorado, which include: a main production facility in Mead and a second facility in Longmont. BSC has continuously grown the sales of its products to existing and new customers and expects to continue on a high growth trajectory.

The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for customer service and order fulfillment at Boulder Scientific Company (BSC). This person will be highly collaborative, proactive, and detailed in their pursuit of customer satisfaction. The Specialist will be expected to provide price quotations, assist with customer requests, and communicate order details to internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all customer purchase orders (POs) and creates all customer order documentations; performs all customer service activities for assigned orders
  • Responsible for the entire life cycle of the order; creates customer packets and tracks them throughout the BSC system, and notifies customer when the order has been shipped
  • Works with external freight forwarder and shipping to manage shipments
  • Reviews each customer PO for correct prices, enters all relevant communications for the order, and coordinates time lines from PO to product shipment
  • Creates Order Acknowledgements for all customer POs
  • Assists on customer price quotations
  • Communicates directly with all customers, providing customer service and product logistics on a regular basis
  • Assists in creating forecasts for BSC products
  • Attends various meetings and communicates critical information to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Continuously tracks all customer forecasts, usage rates and inventories and communicates the information to both BSC and external stakeholders as necessary
  • Keeps customers updated on their current purchase orders
  • Manages the ERP and CRM for accuracy
  • Responsible for answering customer calls and emails
  • Handles customer complaints and communicates the information to appropriate management
  • Coordinates development of forecasts with Account Manager
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement projects to improve work flow

Qualifications

Associates Degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and BSC experience. Bachelor’s degree or technical degree helpful but not required.

Experience

  • Experience in the use of computer software programs commonly found in sales and manufacturing environments, such as: Excel, Project, Power Point, Outlook and ERP systems; a data analytics software such as Power BI is preferred
  • At least one year of order entry, customer service, or other sales process experience
  • Experience coordinating meetings and projects across multi-departmental teams
  • Experience working in a scientific, technical or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of specialty chemical products is preferred
  • Experience in batch chemical environment(s) is preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as ISO or GMP is preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be keyboarding for extended periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee will be occasionally visiting manufacturing areas, prep areas, and storage facilities that require the use of PPE.
