What We Offer

  • Market-calibrated base compensation range: (annual salary)
    • Low: $91,379.16
    • High: $123,630.63
  • Additional compensation:

How You Can Help Us

Visualizes the big picture to achieve on-schedule and on-budget completion of assigned projects. Demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills to manage all aspects of the project and its success. Collaborates with employees, subcontractors, owners, and architects to provide technical assistance for plan interpretation, clarity regarding industry standards and codes, as well as recommending construction methods. Exercises discretion and independent judgment to anticipate and resolve with problems or recurring issues. Mentors, guides, and advises on-site construction team of proven commercial construction strategies and process.

What You'll Do

  • Scheduling
    • Manages all aspects of production activities and ensures they are implemented in an efficient manner by use of a scheduling system.
    • Consults and advises Company leadership on staffing needs.
  • Erosion Control
    • Conforms to the requirements of the SWMP for assigned communities, as necessary.
    • Assists and supports the needs of state inspections.
  • Build Partnerships
    • Visits municipalities, as needed, to pull permits, arrange inspections, etc.
    • Maintains good working relationships with all stakeholders, including inspectors, trade partners, etc.
  • Safety
    • Assumes primary responsibilities for leading, implementing, and enforcing jobsite safety requirements.
  • Quality Control
    • Performs quality assurance inspections to confirm adherence with plans, scope and spec, and manufacturer installation requirements.
  • Cost Control
    • Reviews budgets on a regular basis and monitors adherence to the established cost parameters.
  • Plans and Specifications
    • Consults with engineers, architects, and owners to provide construction feedback prior to the start of construction.
    • Identifies errors in plans, specifications, and designs, and manages RFI process.
  • Construction Team Management
    • Applies strategic thinking to manage employees and trade partners.

What You Need

  • Experience and Education
    • High school diploma required.
    • Minimum 5 years (10 preferred) progressive commercial construction experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of attached building experience.
    • Minimum 5 years project superintendent experience
    • Minimum 3 years extended education in engineering or construction management background preferred. (May be waived in lieu of completion of a formal trade apprenticeship program and/or project superintendent experience.)
    • 10-hour OSHA authorized training certification
    • Multi-Family experience preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
    • Strong organizational skills, people skills, management abilities, decision making skills and planning skills.
    • Understanding of how activities impact profits and losses in a home building company along with strong analytical skills and the ability to focus on issues which may adversely impact financial results.
    • Must be able to effectively delegate decision making and problem solving authority, communicate clear performance expectations and desired results, monitor performance and outcomes, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets and schedules with moving deadlines.
    • May be called upon to handle difficult situations. Must be able to resolve problems and handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. 
    • Intermediate skill in MS Project, Excel and Word required. AutoCad experience a plus.
    • Ability to work effectively with the pressures of meeting schedules and producing quality product.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and provide feedback in a professional manner with government officials, general public and internal customers. Ability to handle conflict and hold others accountable for results.
    • Ability to read and understand architectural and civil engineering plans.

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Requires manual dexterity to operate computer, keyboard, calculator, copier machine and other office equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports, and computer terminals. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.
  • Requires some reaching and occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.

  • This position will work in a field environment on sites that are under development, near heavy equipment and uneven terrain. 
  • The noise level in the work environment may be elevated.
  • Different weather conditions may be encountered, though there is no requirement for sustained work in unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at the designated work site is required.
