A Department of Energy Management and Operations contractor in beautiful Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking to hire an Oracle Relational Database/Microsoft SQL Database server administrator. This facility provides primary support to the Department of Energy Environmental Management cleanup mission and National Nuclear Security Administration missions.

This position is located approximately 20 minutes from Augusta, Georgia (home of the annual Master’s Golf Tournament) and 30 minutes from Fort Gordon (home of the new US Army Cyber Command). The complex is one hour from South Carolina's Capital: Columbia, within three hours of Charleston's beaches, and just a couple of hours from Greenville/Spartanburg, SC. Aiken is known for its famous thoroughbred horses, southern hospitality, growing community, thriving school district, numerous parks and golf courses, great weather, spacious avenues, and historical large and impressive homes.

About the Position:

Technicians shall participate in the installation, configuration, and support of RDBMS software products as necessary to integrate them into the Site’s computing environment. The role shall require constant interaction with other database administrators on the team and shall require project management skills to develop and maintain a robust, scalable, and performant database infrastructure system at SRS. They shall provide technical expertise and support for Oracle and/or SQL Server database environment and demonstrate experience with database management utilities (datapump, RMAN, Parallel query, etc.). Technicians must understand database security technologies, with a working knowledge of tuning and monitoring techniques, and demonstrated experience with database management creation, space layout, and object creation. Must have demonstrated knowledge of:

• Oracle11g R2 and/or SQL Server 2008/2012 RDBMS.
• Components and utilities knowledge of RDBMS products stated above.
• UNIX Sun/Solaris.
• Microsoft Windows 2008/2012.
• Oracle WebLogic.
• PeopleSoft Database Administration (Human Resources/Finance & Supply Chain).
• PeopleTools/STAT/Tuxedo.

Required Qualifications:

• 4 Year in Computer Science/Programming, Information Systems, or similar field.
• 10 Years’ experience managing Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server in a Windows Server or UnIx environment.
• Successful drug screening.
• Must be US citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science/Programming, Information Systems or similar field.
• Prior Experience supporting Federal Government Civilian Agencies (Department of Energy or others).
• Vendor Certification in Oracle Relational Database Management Systems and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
