Borrego Health is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a Federal Tort Claims Act Deemed (FTCA) facility.SUMMARY:Compliance AnalystAs a Compliance Analyst you will work remotely to assist the Chief Compliance Officer and the Director of Compliance with helping the organization ensure their operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. You will be responsible for monitoring and documenting compliance activities, advising leadership and management on compliance matters, and liaising with government agencies. You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, other programs, agencies and the general public.The key challenge of this role centers on your ability to work quickly, accurately and independently. Initiate and follow-through on projects with little supervision or guidance. In this role you will be expected to participate in and/or manage multiple work streams simultaneously. To be an effective Compliance Analyst, you will need to demonstrate data analytics skills, organization skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to assess and interpret risks, critical thinking, creativity, integrity and relationship building.This is a virtual, remote, position that requires candidates to be highly organized, self-starters, well-versed in technical applications. Previous success in a remote environment is preferred. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and weekends. Occasional travel to California may be required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrate knowledge of Human Resources Services Administration (HRSA) compliance requirements. Assist in the formulation of policies and procedures; understand and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations; edit and coordinate editing of policies via SharePoint and/or Policy Tech.Ensuring Borrego Health’s compliance with Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) eligibility and application requirements. Responsible for general oversight and development of tracking and assessment tools for ongoing monitoring of compliance.Effectively utilize computer and appropriate software and interact as needed with Information Systems. Develop automated auditing tools, data bases and tracking tools using Microsoft Excel or Access. Ability to analyze data in Tableau preferred.Assist the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Compliance with the development, and delivery or facilitation of ongoing corporate compliance and HIPAA education and training.Assist in the ongoing monitoring of compliance risks, the implementation of the annual compliance work plan and develop tools to track the mitigation of corrective action plans. Effectively communicate compliance concerns at all organizational levels of the organization.Assist with other department projects and duties, as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care, Health Care Administration, or a related field. Or equivalent health care administration experience2. Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.3. Previous FQHC experience with FTCA, 340B, Grants, Clinical Operations and Federal and State regulations preferred.4. Demonstrated understanding of payer rules and regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid.5. Demonstrated knowledge of corporate compliance, best practices, medical record review, legal aspects of documentation, etc.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.2. Effective interpersonal skills.3. Computer proficiency, including programs such as MS Office, Word, Excel, email, and internet research, required. Proficiency with Tableau preferred.4. Must possess ability to utilize computer and appropriate software and interact as needed with Information Systems5. Must possess ability to navigate clinical information systems for accessing health information in an electronic environment.6. Must possess the ability to educate and train Compliance and Clinical standards to staff members.7. Must be able to travel as needed.8. Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, patients) via strong communication skills.Physical and Mental Requirements:1.
